Most strip club veterans know to keep a close eye on their wallet and cash while at the club. Certain strippers have always been known to try to pick-pocket you while you’re distracted with some huge breasts in your face.
But as with most things today, technology is changing all of that. Today, strippers have a new scam and it involves your phone.
In Las Vegas, we’re getting more reports of strippers trying to get access to customer’s phones while at the club and even outside the club.
To keep you and you’re money safe, we’ll go over how the scam works and give you one example of how it cost a guy $40,000 in lost cash and crypto!
How The New Vegas Stripper Scam Works
The goal of this new scam is to get a hold of your phone. It may seem obvious and you would never fall for it, but these strippers can be very tricky when it comes to convincing you to hand your phone over.
The reason they want your phone is so they can drain your Cash App, bank apps, or crypto wallets. They’ll try to access anything that has any money while they have your phone, even for a second.
Just like a pickpocket, some of these strippers are very fast and can navigate your phone in just a few seconds. They know all these banking apps inside and out and they know the fastest way to send money out of the app.
How They Get You To Turn Over Your Phone
One of the most common ways they get your phone is to offer extras during a private dance.
They’ll say if you pay them via an app or PayPal, they’ll give you an extra dance or some extra action.
If you agree and take out your phone, they’ll be keeping a close eye on what you’re doing while distracting you with some teasing like unbuttoning your pants or similar actions.
Then they wait until the moment the transfer is over. After that, they try to grab the phone and place it behind you or on the couch as if they want to get to the lap dance as fast as possible.
But the real reason is they want the app to still be open. While you’re distracted, they quickly send more money via the app every chance they get.
I know it seems like you would be able to notice all this, but these girls are very tricky. Also, you’re likely a little drunk at the moment, it’s dark, and they’re being as sexy as possible to cloud your mind.
A variation on this is the stripper will give you a sob story after a few dances.
She’ll say she needs money for rent or her family, even for her kids. She asks that you give her a tip via a banking app instead of cash because the strip club takes a portion of her cash at the end of the night.
When you send the money, she’ll use the same method as above to get the phone away.
A final method they use is to pretend you’re taking too long to send the money and she grabs the phone to send it for you. When she grabs the phone she sends all the money she can or tries to access other apps.
Be Careful When You Bring Girls Home From The Strip Club Or Casino
Some of you who are more adventurous may try to bring a girl back to your hotel from the club or a casino.
This can be a lot of fun, but it’s risky these days. Guys are getting robbed constantly in Vegas so you have to be alert.
When you’re in your hotel room or house with a stripper, they have way more time to pull the phone scam.
This is especially true when guys fall asleep at some point and the girl already knows how to get in your phone due to an earlier transfer to pay for the night.
The Poor Guy Who Lost $40K To This Stripper Scam
As reported by local news station 8 News Now, a man met a girl at a Vegas casino and after a few drinks, went back to his apartment with her.
Seems like the start of a great night, right?
Well, when he woke up, all his accounts, including his crypto wallets, were drained. The total money allegedly stolen was $40,000 and several accounts were overdrawn, leaving him completely broke.
You may be thinking the guy should have never fallen asleep. But these girls will get you drunk on purpose or even drug you in some cases.
This can happen with strippers, escorts, and just random girls in Vegas who prey on guys looking for some quick action.
Stay Smart Out There
The bottom line is never to hand your phone over to anyone in any situation. Most strip club veterans probably already know this. But many tourists and others may not be aware of just how common this new scam is.
Once the money is sent, it’s almost impossible to get back. Most banking apps will not reverse the transfer in any situation, even in theft cases.
If the transfer came from your phone, it won’t be reversed even if you press charges.
So be smart, and have fun, but always keep your phone in your pocket and never leave your banking apps open when around Vegas party girls.
